During 2006-07 an amount of Rs.19.09 crores of expenditure incurred under Sampurna Grameena Rojgar Yojana in Krishna District. Out of which 50% of the funds to the Gram Panchayats 30% Mandal Parishads and the remaining 20% to the Zilla Parishads were allotted for employment generation programme. Schemes relating to social forestry and individual benefits were SC, ST individuals in the above said plan.

During 2007-08 an action plan prepared for the worth of for Rs.16.50 crores covering 50% for Gram Panchayats 30% for Mandal Parishads, 20% for Zilla Parishads. Out of Total action plan 10% of the funds allotted for social forestry and 22.5% of the funds for the welfare of SC & STs through individual benefit schemes.

During this one year period an amount of Rs. 70.80 lakhs were allotted for the welfare of SC community needs, Rs. 35.05 Lakhs allotted for the welfare of ST community needs. An amount of Rs. 118.66 Lakhs were earmarked for drinking water schemes. An amount of Rs. 110.75 lakhs were earmarked for the welfare of woman & Child duly constructing Anganwadi buildings. An amount of Rs. 16.90 Lakhs were allotted for the renovation/new buildings in the higher secondary schools in Krishna district.

During 2006-07, special steps for taken up for conducting auctions to the sand quarries in Krishna district. An amount of Rs. 25 crores of rupees has got as seignorage revenue. Previously an amount of Rs. 8 crores only collected under seignorage revenue. Hence, 3 times of the seignorage revenue collected during the term of this Chairperson, Zilla parishad.

An amount of Rs. 4.50 crores has allocated for the development of Zilla parishad roads during 2006-2007 & 2007-2008 under seignorage grant.

An amount of Rs. 560.25 lakhs has released by the Government for the restoration of disconnected roads, culverts and improvement of the roads which were damaged during Ogni cyclone hit on 30 th November 2006.

An amount of Rs. 560.15 lakhs 0f rupees has released and payments made for the maintenance of CPWS schemes, Rs. 600 lakhs has released to this district for the individual sanitary latrine programme, Rs. 1490.85 lakhs has released to the district for sanitation and drinking water parogrammes under 12 th finance commission funds. An amount of Rs. 65.4 expenditure incurred towards the maintenance of hand pumps in upland mandals.

An amount of Rs. 70.75 lakhs has earmarked for capital works and Rs. 70.74 lakhs for the maintenance works under the state finance commission funds. And also an amount of Rs. 70 lakhs towards the maintenance of the works in mandal parishads of Krishna district. An administrative sanction has been accorded with an estimated cost of Rs. 224 lakhs for the rural roads maintenance under RRM grant.

The Chief Executive Officer, Zilla Parishad, Krishna, Machilipatnam has conducted a special drive programme for dropping Audit Objections and the efforts made by the Chief Executive Officer 150 objections were dropped by the State Local Fund Audit Department. A special drive programme has fixed and reviewed with the drawing and disbursing officers along with defaulters of the House Building Advance and an over due amount was collected from the employees in a month.

The then Chief Executive Officer, Krishna, machilipatnam has taken initiative steps for preparing consolidated annual administrative reports of the mandal parishads and submitted to the state finance commission for the past 5 years in the revised proforma which was pending at Ziila Parishad from 3 years.

As per the 11 th schedule of the 73 rd amendment of the constitution the chairperson of the zilla parishad, Krishna, machilipatnam has taken intiative steps for reviewing the all developmental activities, functions and functionaries of 29 departments even though the full financial powers not handed over the local bodies of the zilla parishad. The chair person of the zilla parishad has given a programme for the various departments in the district for a periodical review. Finally with the help of the funds and functionaries of the zilla parishad has taken a intiative steps for communitive needs like construction of anganwadi buildings, BT roads, CC roads, improvement to the roads, improvement of drinking water tanks, hand pumps for drinking water, repairs to guest houses construction of bridges, culverts, PWS schemes, improvement of secondary school buildings, provision of drains, provision of community halls, maintenance of CPWS schemes, PWS schemes, sanitation and etc.. and also special measures are taking to improve the revenue of the zilla parishad duly conducting the open auctions for lands, shopping complexes, ferries, fish tanks, sand quarries etc.
